Netflix Renews _Chelsea_, _Lady Dynamite_, Sets Premiere Date for One Day at a Time Revival

Plus: Jennifer Garner's new project!

Netflix has given second seasons to Chelsea Handler's new talk show Chelsea, Maria Bamford's quirky comedy series Lady Dynamite, and the Rob Schneider comedy Real Rob. The sophomore seasons will all premiere in 2017.

The announcements were made Wednesday during the Television Critics Association fall previews in Los Angeles.

In addition to the renewals, the streaming service also set premiere dates for several new and returning shows, including the Gilmore Girls revival and Season 3 of Black Mirror.

Easy, an anthology series from creator Joe Swanberg starring Orlando Bloom, Malin Ackerman and Jake Johnson, will premiere on Sept. 22 at 12:01 a.m. PT. The show follows a group of people in Chicago "as they fumble through the modern maze of love, sex, technology and culture" and also stars Hannibal Buress, Dave Franco and Marc Maron.

Captive, a new docuseries from executive producer Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) about high-profile cases, including many that have been kept out of the public eye, premieres Friday, Dec. 9.

The Cuban-American reimagining of One Day at a Time from original series creator Norman Lear will premiere Jan. 6, 2017, with a 13-episode first season.

Netflix announces premiere date for the Gilmore Girls revival

Season 3 of Chef's Table: France will premiere on Sept. 2; Season 1B of the Ashton Kutcher-Danny Masterson comedyThe Ranch will premiere on Oct. 7; Lovesick, the comedy formerly known as Scrotal Recall, returns for Season 2 on Nov. 17; Beat Bugs, inspired by the songs of The Beatles, returns for a second season on Nov. 18.

Jennifer Garner is joining the upcoming animated children's series Llama Llama, based on the book series by Anna Dewdney, as the voice of Mama Llama. The show is scheduled to premiere in 2017.

Netflix also announced that it has picked up an as-yet-untitled animated musical kids' show from Beat Bugs creator Josh Wakely. The project will be inspired by Detroit's Motown heritage and will follow a shy 8-year-old boy named Ben who discovers that he can bring street art to life. Smokey Robinson will act as executive music producer on the series.

All Netflix premieres occur at 12:10 a.m. PT.
