Long live One Chicago!

NBC announced it is renewing all three Dick Wolf Chicago shows, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, for the 2018-19 television season. That means so much more drama and all the crossovers will continue and we can't wait.

It's no shock that NBC decided to pick up the series. All three of the Chicago dramas perform well, with P.D. leading the pack. In Live+7 data, it averages a 2.3 rating in the key 18-49 demo (which means a lot to the advertisers that pay for the show to be on the air). The network boasts that P.D. is the second-highest rated 10 p.m. drama on broadcast TV, losing only to ABC's breakout hit The Good Doctor. All of the Chicago shows hold steady above that 2.0 Live+7 rating though which is really great news to executives when evaluating when to keep shows.

Chicago is not the only franchise to get good news for the Dick Wolf family. NBC also renewed Law & Order: SVUfor an historic 20th season. The procedural now ties Law & Order and Gunsmoke for longest running live-action dramas (The Simpsons holds the record for longest running scripted show). SVU holds its own with the Chicago shows, keeping up a 2.2 rating in the key demo. It's safe to say NBC won't be letting that gem go until Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and break that Gunsmoke record.

The Dick Wolf line-up joins This Is Us and Good Girls on NBC's list of renewed dramas.
