NBC has opted not to tape-delay the 2010 ceremony for the West Coast when the ceremony is telecast Aug. 29. NBC says the live broadcast is a first for the Emmys.
The announcement comes barely two months after NBC broadcast the Golden Globes live from coast to coast for the first time, attracting 16.9 million viewers. In comparison, 14.9 million viewers tuned in for the 2009 Golden Globes ceremony.
