Michael Shannon Lip-Syncing The Pixies is Predictably Super-Intense

At first, Michael Shannon doesn't seem like a good fit for Lip Sync Battle. The Midnight Special star is too scarily intense for something as light and goofy as the Spike show... There's every reason to think he'd end up naked, covered in blood, perched on Chrissy Teigen's counter and screaming in her face like a madman.

But Michael Shannon is no stranger to hilarious dramatic reinterpretations. His deranged sorority girl email is one of the 200 best viral videos of all time (I have a running list), and he can often use his intensity to create comedy gold.

So happily, his stripped-down rendition of Pixies' indie rock classic "Here Comes Your Man" isn't full bug-eyed, screaming Michael Shannon... But he's getting there. Check out his sweaty pits: this is just Shannon warming up for his showstopper that will go against Rachel Bloom's "Teenage Dream" in the final round. I can't wait to see what happens, and hopefully, no one gets hurt.
