Lost's Matthew Fox says he'll be leaving the small screen once Lost ends.

"I won't be doing any more television," Fox told USMagazine.com, reiterating what he told Starpulse last July.

Lost catch-up: Where we left off with Jack Shephard

The 43-year-old actor, who plays Jack Shephard on the ABC series, said he wanted to use the time away from a hectic TV work schedule to focus on his family. Fox has a daughter, 11-year-old Kyle Allison, and a son, 8-year-old Byron, with wife Margherita.

Fox has said it's not because he thinks film is better than television, but he's done two TV shows now (Lost and Party of Five) that have each run for six years, so he's just looking " to have more control over when I am working and when I'm not."

13 Questions with the producers of Lost: Polar bears, the smoke monster, and the Man in Black

"This is a little emotional," Fox told TVGuide.com at Saturday's Lost premiere party in Hawaii. "It's the last time we'll be doing this, saying goodbye to six years of our lives and moving on to whatever life holds next."

The final season of Lost premieres Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 9/8c on ABC.
