The teens of Culver Creek are finally coming to life in the first footage from Hulu's adaptation of Looking for Alaska.

The teaser, which debuted Friday, is light on plot but heavy on mood. It introduces a handful of the key characters in the eight-episode miniseries, including Miles "Pudge" Halter (Charlie Plummer) and Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth).

"Teenagers think they're invincible," says Alaska in the teaser. "They don't know how right they are."

Here's Your First Look at Looking for Alaska's Culver Creek Prep

Looking for Alaska is based on John Green's 2005 debut novel of the same name, inspired by his own high school experience at a boarding school. The novel follows Miles to Culver Creek Prep, a boarding school for gifted students, where he meets and falls for the enigmatic Alaska.

The miniseries is being adapted by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The OC, Gossip Girl) for Hulu. Schwartz wrote the pilot script; Schwartz, Savage, and Green will executive-produce all eight episodes.

Denny Love, Jay Lee, Landry Bender, Sofia Vassilieva, Timothy Simons (Veep), and Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) also star.

Looking for Alaska premieres Friday, Oct. 18 on Hulu.
