Legacies Premiere Photos Are Here to Tell You Who You Should be Shipping

The The Vampire DiariesandThe Originalslaunched us headfirst into the sexy world of vampires, werewolves and witches, be it in small town, Virginia, or the Big Easy. Now that world's newest spin-off, Legacies, is taking the plunge, and thanks to these new premiere photos, we know exactly which characters we'll be shipping.

In addition to returning characters Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) and Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis), this new show set at the Salvatore Boarding School will introduce us to a few beautiful, new faces. Faces that will eventually end up smashed together if this show is anything like its predecessors.

First, there's the obvious pairing of Hope and her townie crush Landon (Aria Shahghasemi), who shared a brief dance and some serious heart-eyes as The Originals came to a close. We'll just pretend the photos where he's locked away in a cell in the Salvatore dungeon is some kind of kinky, teen roleplaying instead of the more likely scenario that he's proven himself to be some kind of dangerous magical creature. Nothing puts a damper on romance quite like lying about being a werewolf/vampire/goblin/whatever this show throws at us next.

Next up, let's talk about the intimate little moment happening between two newbies, Penelope (Lulu Antariksa) and MG (Quincy Fouse). While we don't know much about these two characters, beyond the fact that MG is a charismatic guy who's got a father in the public eye, there's not much you need to know about their relationship that this photo won't tell you. It looks like some hand-holding action might be going on, and nothing says romance like gazing deeply into each others' eyes beside a roaring fire. Yep, shipping it.

Legacies' Romances Will Be Way Less Creepy Than The Vampire Diaries'

Finally, I want to take a minute to spin some wild speculation. Showrunner Julie Plec has mentioned that the close bond between Hope Mikaelson and Alaric Saltzman will not sit well with Alarci's daughters Josie (Kaylee Bryant) and Lizzie (Jenny Boyd), but is there more to that story? Ever since Legacies revealed that Josie identifies as pansexual in her character description, it's been hard not to speculate who we might ship her with. The possibilities are endless, but we keep coming back to Hope as a potential love interest. Is that photo of Josie in the forest supposed to be her looking jealously on at her dad's training regime with a girl that's not even his daughter? Or is it jealousy that daddy-dearest gets to spend time with one of the prettiest, sweetest, most shippable girls in school?
