Katie Holmes to Star in ABC Drama Pilot

Katie Holmes could be returning to TV! The Dawson's Creek alum will star in the untitled ABC drama from Beautiful Creatures writer Richard LaGravanese, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The project, set in New York City, is about the love and rivalry between two powerful socialites who play out their obsessive attraction for and seduction of each other through the manipulation of others. Holmes will play Ann, a well-bred, Audrey Hepburn-type  who runs a philanthropic foundation with her husband. She stars opposite Rufus Sewell who plays Phillip, one half of a manipulating duo out to destroy Ann's not-so-perfect marriage.

The pilot marks the first starring role for Holmes since Dawson's Creek ended. She most recently guest-starred on two episode of How I Met Your Mother.
