HE'S AT IT AGAIN

This may be hard for you to believe, but American Idol meanie Simon Cowell actually showed restraint when hurling insults at contestants during the show's debut run last summer. "I will never ever do that again," Cowell told reporters over the weekend at the Television Critics Assoc. press tour in Hollywood. "I regret the fact that I behaved that way because there were certain things I would've liked to have said on those last couple of shows and I didn't." For example... "I would've told Nikki McKibbin to go back to a strip club," he said. "As I watched her I thought, 'You are a better stripper than you are a singer.' And I know that sounds rude, but that's what I felt. I bit my tongue, and I wish I hadn't." Cowell will get a chance to redeem himself when Idol 2 debuts tonight on Fox.
