Nominations for the 74th annual Academy Awards were announced this morning in Hollywood and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring snagged a field-best 13 Oscar nods, including best picture of the year. Competing with Rings for best film honors: A Beautiful Mind, Moulin Rouge, In the Bedroom and Gosford Park. Mind and Moulin scored eight nods apiece, followed by Gosford with seven.
