Ever since we met him in the Season 4 premiere, Fear the Walking Dead fans have wanted to know more about the (relatively) peaceful gunslinger John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt). Where did he come from? Was he always like this, or did he become a cowboy after the apocalypse? Is he hiding his true self behind a character, or is this really who he is?

There's also the plot issue of who and where is Laura, his runaway lover who he's on a mission to find.

Dillahunt promises that we'll be getting answers to these questions soon. "Pretty soon he's got his -- my -- backstory episode, and there's a lot of answers in there about why he is this way, why he likes the things he likes," Dillahunt tells TV Guide. "And I think you might be a little surprised."

Laura might be even closer than you realize.
