Donnie Wahlberg Claims He Doesn't Know if He's on The Masked Singer

Oh word, Donnie, it's like that?

Donnie Wahlberg has heard the theories that he's the Rabbit on The Masked Singer, and he's not confirming or denying that he's the singer with swag inside the costume on Fox's hit show.

While promoting his new series Very Scary People on the HLN network as part of the Television Critics Association press tour Monday, the New Kids on the Block star played coy when TV Guide asked whether he was one of the hidden celebrities on the reality show.

"There's a list of boy band-ers who are alleged to be the Rabbit, and I'm on the list," he said. "I think I'm trending third now behind Joey Fatone and Joey McIntyre." Indeed, theories that Wahlberg, also the husband of one of the show's sleuths, Jenny McCarthy, have been plentiful, even if McCarthy has low-key debunked the theories -- once by saying on Today Show that her husband Facetimed her while the Rabbit was on stage. But maybe she's lying? After all, she has lots of incentive to keep people guessing about one of the biggest mysteries of our time.

"My wife signed the nondisclosure, so I don't even know who's in the costume," Wahlberg said. "But if it's me, I don't know yet." And just like that, the Wahlberg/Rabbit theories get new life.

So, far the show has unmasked celebs including Tori Spelling, Margaret Cho, Antonio Brown and Ricki Lake.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Fox.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story referred to Wahlberg as a former New Kids on the Block star. Wahlberg is still a member of the band, which kicks off its latest tour in May.
