Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Mega Buzz: Will Jack's Son Join the Team?

Jack Garrett's (Gary Sinise) biggest conflict on Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders has nothing to do with unsubs.

On the May 25 finale, fans will meet the IRT chief's wife, Karen (Sherry Stringfield), with whom he has six kids, including son Ryan and daughter Josie, who is heading off to college. But it's where Ryan's heading that concerns Jack the most: the FBI Academy, continuing the Garrett family tradition. "It's hard for [Jack]. He's conflicted," Sinise tells TVGuide.com. "He did the same thing -- he followed in his father's footsteps, so he understands the family business aspect of it. Yet he also knows how dark the world is and the different types of things he's had to face in his career, the challenges. But he doesn't want to be a hypocrite and discourage [Ryan] either, so he's trying to find that medium."

And hey, maybe one day father and son can fight crime around the world together? "That's still a long way off," Sinise says with a laugh. "I'm sure he'd be conflicted about that too, but it would be nice for them to be together."
