The Arrowverse is still powering forward, even as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) nears his end as the eponymous superhero. An Arrowspinoff is already in the works to carry the action much further forward, TV Guide has learned, as it will be focused on the Canaries crime-fighting team -- namely, Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), and Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) -- in Star City in 2046. Arrow will air a backdoor pilot for the potential spin-off during its eighth and final season.

Executive producing the potential series will be Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship, and Oscar Balderrama. Schwartz, Guggenheim, Blankenship, and Balderrama are also co-writing the episode that will serve as an introduction to the Canaries series concept.

Arrow premieres Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9/8c on The CW.

(Disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS Interactive, a division of CBS Corporation.)
