Although Season 8 has yet to premiere, Arrow's farewell tour continues with another announcement about a special guest star. Entertainment Weekly reports that Colton Haynes will be putting the red hood back on as Roy Harper for the show's final season.

So far, there are few details about how and when Roy will pop up in either the present or future storyline -- or both -- but at least we'll be getting some resolution for one of the show's original characters before all is said and done. Haynes had reportedly left the show as a series regular after Season 7, but both he and showrunner Beth Schwartz never ruled out the possibility that Roy would return in some capacity.

"Getting a lot of angry messages so just to clarify... I didn't exit the last season of Arrow," Haynes wrote on Twitter after the news of his exit was announced. "I was not asked to come back for the final season as a series regular. But y'all know Roy...he's never gone for too long."

Haynes turned out to be right on the money, and Schwartz told EW, "We couldn't have ended the show without having him back."

Another OG cast member returning for the final season is Willa Holland, who plays Roy's on-again, off-again love interest, Thea Queen. Could these two crazy kids finally work things out and zipline off into the sunset together? Time will tell.

Arrow's final season premieres Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9/8c on The CW.
