Brown, who's also up for several awards, said: "I am excited about my nominations and to be back on the VMA stage. I have a special performance planned for my wonderful fans." Brown last appeared on the awards show in 2007 with his now ex Rihanna.
Wayne, who's up for Best Hip-Hop Video, said: "Being a nominee and performer on the VMAs once again is an honor because everyone doesn't get that opportunity."
The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards airs live Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9/8c.
