2009 Golden Globes Trivia By the Numbers

0 — 30 Rock may have back-to-back comedy series Emmys, but it hasn't won a series Globe yet. Could this be the year?
1 — Only one network series (House) made the cut in the drama series race. Can you say "cable dominance"?
2 — This is the second time Meryl Streep has two nominations in one year. She's up for drama and comedy actress for Doubt and Mamma Mia!, respectively. Her last doubling up was in 2003, when she won supporting actress for Adaptation. and was nominated in dramatic actress for The Hours.
3 — Three couples have his-and-hers nominations: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, and Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes.
4 — Four of the TV comedy actor nominees are previous winners. Entourage's Kevin Connolly is getting his first Globe nod.
4 — Mini reunion? Four nominees — Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Hugh Laurie and Tom Wilkinson — costarred in 1995's Sense and Sensibility, which nabbed Winslet her first Globe nod.
5 — Five is the magic number. Doubt, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon lead the film races with five nominations, while In Treatment and telemovie Recount lead the TV race with five as well.
5 — Five people are double nominees: Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Clint Eastwood, Ralph Fiennes and Tom Wilkinson.
5 — After five consecutive nominations (and one win), Johnny Depp is nowhere to be seen this year. In his defense, he had no movies in 2008.
7 — With her two nominations, for Revolutionary Road and The Reader, Kate Winslet's Globe nomination tally is now at seven. She has yet to win.
8 —Eight-time nominees Debra Messing and Susan Sarandon may have an Emmy and an Oscar, respectively, but neither has won a Globe yet.
9 — It's been nine years since drama film and director nominees matched perfectly — a rare feat given the two film categories and no limit on the number of nominees. Before that, it was 1976.
13 — Dustin Hoffman's nomination for Last Chance Harvey is lucky No. 13. He has five Globes to his name.
17 — How's this to make you feel old? It's been 17 years since Neil Patrick Harris last scored a Globe nomination (for Doogie Howser, M.D.) Despite two Emmy nominations, this is NPH's first Globe nod for How I Met Your Mother.
19 — Miniseries/TV movie actress nominee Shirley MacLaine earned her 19th nomination this year for Coco Chanel. She has six wins.
22 — Leading all networks in nominations is (surprise, surprise) HBO with 22, thanks mainly to In Treatment, Recount and John Adams.
23 — Golden girl Meryl Streep's two nominations bring her overall total to a whopping 23. She has six statuettes at home.
38 — Drama actor nominee Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon) earned his first Globe nomination 38 years ago, which was so long ago that the category he was in — Most Promising Newcomer — male — no longer exists.
