Where the Spies Are Reviews

In this enjoyable spy spoof Niven is a country doctor called to service by Le Mesurier because of espionage work he did in WW II. He is sent to Beirut to dig up some information for which one agent had already been murdered. Enthusiastically, Niven reveals that the communists plan on killing the Prince of Zahlouf, a man who leans toward Britain and whose death would be a serious threat to Britain's power in the Middle East. Niven thwarts the Russian attempts, with help from Dorleac as a sexy double agent mysteriously popping up to rescue him from one hot spot after another. Though far-fetched, the picture's tongue-in-cheek attitude allows the viewer to get involved without taking the story seriously.
