Two Weeks with Love Reviews

Though not yet a major star, Debbie Reynolds stole the show in this entertaining comedy about a family that heads for the Catskills on a two-week vacation. Reynolds and older sis Powell fall for a couple of fellows, but find themselves falling somewhere between girlhood and womanhood. Powell goes for Montalban and even has a bizarre dream about home wherein she equates her desires to wear a corset with her love for her man. Reynolds is a charmer as she makes a play for Carpenter. Two years previous to this picture, Reynolds was being crowned "Miss Burbank"; in two more years she would be dancing and SINGING IN THE RAIN. Songs: "Aba Daba Honeymoon" (Arthur Fields, Walter Donovan), "The Oceana Roll" (Roger Lewis, Lucien Denni), "A Heart That's Free" (Thomas T. Railey, Alfred G. Robyn), "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" (Gus Edwards, Edward Madden), "My Hero" (Stanislau Stange, Oscar Straus), "Row Row Row" (William Jerome, James V. Monaco), "That's How I Need You" (Joe McCarthy, Joe Goodwin), "Beautiful Lady" (Ivan Caryll, C.H.S. McClellan).
