Eggar, a beautiful young antique appraiser crippled by polio, succumbs to the charms of Hemmings, a struggling young painter. Romance blooms and Eggar moves in with Hemmings. It isn't long before Hemmings suggests that Eggar help him and his partner, Williams, rob the antique shop where she works. Blinded by love, Eggar agrees to help, assuming that Hemmings will use the money to start their own antique shop. With Eggar's help, the robbery is a success, but it quickly becomes apparent that Hemmings' relationship with Eggar was designed by him to facilitate the robbery. Crushed, Eggar turns herself in to the police and informs on Hemmings and Williams.
