The Sweet Ride Reviews

The film is anything but what the title claims, as a group of people who live on Malibu Beach are brought together to show the pointlessness of their lifestyle. It takes the fatal beating of Bisset to make beach bum Sarrazin come to his senses; he wanted to have a meaningful relationship with her, but she was too wrapped up in shallow sexual encounters to handle it. Sarrazin then decides to put meaning into his life by getting a job at a hardware store. Denver plays a flaky jazz musician who is Sarrazin's roommate, as is Franciosa, the tennis pro who lives off the admiration of the other beach inhabitants. There was a possibility for a good movie in this script, but the film came out being as bland as the characters it was trying to expose.
