The Petty Girl Reviews

Calendar artist Cummings finds himself being pushed to be an "artist" by his sponsor, Long, who wants to see her find praised by the critics. Soon he meets prudish college professor Caulfield, who is in New York on a vacation, and is so enamored of her (he wants her to pose for him) that he follows her back to her college. His persistence gets her fired, so she takes the offensive and goes back to New York for a showdown with Long. To snare Cummings, Caulfield poses for him and they eventually marry. Watch for Tippi Hedren of Alfred Hitchcock fame in her film debut. Songs include "Petty Girl," "Fancy Free," "Calypso Song," "Ah Loves You" (Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer).
