The Merry Frinks Reviews

A grotesquely obnoxious family headed by unselfish mother MacMahon steers itself through a variety of incidents that border on humor. Mom is as loony as her offspring--two sons, one a communist and the other an aspiring prizefighter, and one daughter, who is making a play for a married booking agent in hopes of getting herself a radio gig. Mom spends most of her time trying to find work for her husband. When his brother dies of chronic indigestion after a lavish Oriental dinner, she is left a $500,000 inheritance, providing she leave the family behind. She takes the money and runs, but finds herself returning to the nest. It's not especially funny, nor is the story-telling technique very polished, but it is certainly an oddity.
