The Kettles in the Ozarks Reviews

Percy Kilbride was no longer around as Pa Kettle, but Main continued to play her role for this eighth film in Universal's "Kettle" series. Hunnicutt is brought in as "Uncle Sedge," a character cut from the same folksy cloth as Pa Kettle. The plot has Main and the kids traveling to the Ozarks to visit their uncle. There's some trouble with bootleggers and a subplot involving Hunnicutt's 20-year "fence-sitting romance" with Merkel. This is a slight film, even by previous "Kettle" film standards. The jokes and gags have seen better days.
