The High Command Reviews

Atwill is the commander of a West African garrison which includes Mannheim and Perrins, the latter of whom knows that Mannheim is the secret daughter of Atwill. After an inordinate amount of plot-twisting, Mason reveals Atwill's scandalous past, which includes a murder. The tangled script was based on a novel entitled The General Goes Too Far, which Geray referred to as "The General Has No Legs" because of the many closeups of Atwill in the film. A 90m and a 74m version also were released.
