The Groundstar Conspiracy Reviews

Based on the L.P. Davies novel The Alien, this better-than-average spy thriller with science fiction overtones opens as a top-secret American space project hidden away in Vancouver, British Columbia, explodes--killing all the scientists save Sarrazin, who is severely disfigured. Believing that the explosion was set to cover the theft of sensitive documents, the government sends in agent Peppard to investigate. Peppard suspects that is a foreign agent and doesn't buy it when the injured scientist pleads memory loss. Sarrazin has indeed lost his memory, and he wanders about in search of his identity, while Peppard looks for the terrorists. Johnson handles the direction well, and Michael Sarrazin (a notoriously spotty actor) turns in what many consider to be his best performance.
