The Family Reviews

Bronson is a hit man in New Orleans. His girlfriend (Bronson's late wife, Ireland) double-crosses him. Sex, car crashes, and violent gunplay ensue. Bronson has revenge on Ireland and Orsini in the end. The top-billed players all die. THE FAMILY was made in 1970 but was not released in the United States until 1974, capitalizing on the sudden fame of Bronson and Savalas. Shot on location in Rome and New Orleans, the film was poorly made; English dubbing further detracted from the plot for American audiences. Wertmuller, who was to become a noted director in the 1970s, shares screenwriting credit.
