The Doughgirls Reviews

Based on the Broadway hit, this film version is watered down, thanks to the Hays Office. Wyman, Sheridan, and Smith are hunting for husbands in war-time Washington. Eve Arden outshines everyone as a visiting Russian guerrilla fighter, who keeps her marksmanship up by shooting pigeons, and who keeps pulling the three stars from their messes. Most of the humor of the play got lost somewhere in the transition.
