That Way with Women Reviews

Dull remake of THE MILLIONAIRE starring Greenstreet as the benevolent tycoon who has retired from the automobile business and moved on to making people happy. Despite his doctor's warnings, Greenstreet buys into a small gas station with struggling entrepreneur Clark, and together the men fight off various threats, including gangsters. Between battles, Greenstreet finds time to spark a romance between Clark and Vickers. The original version of the film, made in 1931 with George Arliss in the role of the millionaire, was a big hit with Depression audiences. This version was much less successful. It had been rewritten to make the young couple, rather than the philanthropist, the focus of the picture, and the idea of meeting a benevolent millionaire held much less fascination for the more affluent postwar audiences.
