Sweet Lies Reviews

Peter Nicholl (Treat Williams), an American investigating insurance fraud in Paris, becomes the willing but unknowing victim of a bet between Joelle (Joanna Pacula) and Dixie (Julianne Phillips), two beauties who compete to see which of them can get him into bed first. Both women find ingenious ways to arrange "accidental" meetings with Peter, and in little time, he is taken with both of them; that is until he finds out about their wager. SWEET LIES' silly premise might have been sufficient for a half-hour television episode, but it lacks the necessary oomph to get a full-length feature off the ground. Low-key, simple, and occasionally funny, SWEET LIES would be a much better film had its female leads offered more in the way of performance than their pretty faces.
