Sullivan's Empire Reviews

Originally made as a pilot for a television series, then unfortunately transferred to the big screen, this picture has stock actors, dull shots that don't emphasize the dramatics, a ludicrous plot, and unsuitable characters who lack motivation. Johnson plays a wealthy industrialist who walked out on his three sons when they were all still toddlers. Even so, the young men congregate from various points around the world to help the old man out of a jam. His plane crashed while flying near his Brazilian estate. The sons search for their father through the jungle, discovering a plot by his business partner to get control of the empire. A far-fetched ending has lady helicopter flyer Nolan rescuing all four of the men, who have been captured by guerrillas. This story should have been left on TV.
