Some Kind of a Nut Reviews

An unfunny comedy that might have made an amusing five-minute student project but falls short of meeting its feature-length ambitions. Kanin produced, acted as executive producer, directed, and wrote this Van Dyke vehicle, casting him as a bank teller involved with Forsyth while awaiting a divorce from Dickinson. When he gets stung by a bee one afternoon, he comes to work with a bandage on his face. He then decides to grow a beard to cover the sting, refusing to shave it off when the bank executives ask him to. Forsyth has her two brothers try to defuzz his face forcibly, but he evades them. The men in white suits show up and haul the "crazy" Van Dyke off to the loony bin. They really made a feature-length movie out of this. The question is why.
