McCrea is an American army colonel stationed in England who gets involved with helping Culver and Lom of the British Secret Service. A plot is discovered to smuggle in a foreign agent, and McCrea and Lom pose as his allies when they go to meet him. Other agents try to pin a murder charge on McCrea, and the action culminates in a chase through a wax museum. Spies, counterspies, murder and suspense are nicely woven together for an intriguing thriller. McCrea is excellent in the lead, with good support from Lom and from Keyes as McCrea's wife. Direction is taut with speedy pacing that helps the suspense immensely. Though not an outstanding espionage feature, it works well in the programmer format.
