The film debut of popular radio detective Paul Temple suffers from bargain-basement production. Hulme stars as the novelist/amateur detective called in by Scotland Yard to help investigate a murder committed by a gang of diamond thieves. Shelton, a lady reporter whose brother was murdered by the gang, helps Hulme track down the leader of the gang, who turns out to be masquerading as a police inspector.
