Psyche 59 Reviews

Neal plays the blind wife of industrialist Jurgens. Her blindness is ostensibly the result of an injury suffered in a fall five years earlier but really seems to be a psychosomatic response to an affair between Jurgens and her sister, Eggar. When Eggar returns to London and moves in with her sister, the affair is resumed, despite Jurgens' discomfort with the situation. Neal's eyesight slowly begins to return, and when she catches Jurgens and Eggar embracing, she acknowledges the initial cause of her blindness. Although the direction is well paced, with the art direction and music providing the necessary atmosphere, the story development is too confusing and the characters too complex for clear plot delineation.
