Amusing comedy starring Hay as a problem son whose family finds him a job as stationmaster of an obscure railway post in Ireland where no trains stop. On his arrival, Hay finds only a doddering old clerk and an overweight young porter as his charges. Hay sets about revitalizing the premises. After sprucing up the station, he books a train to transport the local soccer team. When the train vanishes, Hay hunts it down and discovers it is being used by gun smugglers. Quickly, Hay couples the incriminating car to an old engine and sends the train speeding to the police station, where the crooks are caught and Hay is hailed as a hero.
