Night Shift Reviews

This surprisingly tasteful and funny comedy stars Henry Winkler as Chuck Lumley, a dippy morgue attendant whose mundane life changes when he is assigned to work the night shift with crazed schemer Bill Blazejowski (Michael Keaton). Chuck, who secretly longs for some excitement in his life, becomes embroiled in Bill's wild get-rich-quick plans. When the two meet nice-girl hooker Belinda (Shelley Long), who has just lost her pimp, the boys turn the morgue into a nighttime brothel using Belinda's prostitute pals. Ron Howard's direction is carefully balanced, and he treats his characters with humanity and respect. Winkler turns in the best performance of his career, and Keaton is wonderful.
