An old rocker takes a look at his life in song. This intimate and enthralling musical portrait of singer-songwriter Neil Young is highlighted by a bravura concert performance from Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, where he is accompanied by his wife, Pegi, country superstar Emmylou Harris and a host of other musicians. The film is directed by Jonathan Demme ("Stop Making Sense"), and one of the executive producers is Bernard Shakey, a Young nom de plume.
