Mr. Dodd Takes the Air Reviews

An attempt at satire has Baker as a small-town electrician whose strong voice impresses a New York sponsor. When Baker is taken to New York, however, he suffers an attack of bronchitis and his voice changes from baritone to tenor. He goes on the air but is accused of being a fake. Unwittingly, however, he is a hit with the audience but is kept by his manager from ever appearing in public. He spends his spare time tinkering with an old radio gadget that revitalizes old sets. But when it appears that his invention might be stolen, Wyman takes out a patent in her own name and marries Baker, too. The Harry Warren/Al Dubin song "Remember Me" earned an Oscar nomination. The other songs include: "Am I in Love?" "If I Were a Little Pond Lilly," "The Girl You Used to Be," and "Here Comes the Sandman."
