Manila Calling Reviews

Propagandistic war drama is set in the jungles of the Philippines. Nolan organizes a group of soldiers into a guerrilla unit after the Japanese invasion of the island has left them stranded. They are aided through the efforts of radio operator Wilde to relay information. The movie's message is that if everyone sticks together, regardless of the situation, the enemy can be outdone. Cast gives fitting performances, and good direction keeps the pace moving, despite a weak script.
