Love in a Goldfish Bowl Reviews

This 1960s teen picture offers more than the usual product of the genre. Some of the standard promotional elements are still there, though--the appearance of Fabian and a pop soundtrack, for example. The story revolves around two college freshmen, Sands and Michaels, drawn to each other platonically because they both feel neglected by their parents. Vacation time comes, and the two decide to spend it together at Sands's mother's home. When Michaels is sailing and her boat capsizes, she is saved by amorous coast guardsman Fabian. Fabian takes to Michaels and starts to hang around the house, accompanied by several of his buddies. During one wild party Sands' mother shows up and immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion about Sands and Michaels. Back at school, Sands and Michaels have a revelation about their true feelings for one another, sparking a case of puppy love. The script seems contrived, but this defect is glossed over by convincing performances.
