A young Remberg is raised by a Lapland family after her real parents are killed by wolves. Her foster father decides who she will marry when she reaches the appropriate age, and Remberg is happy with the man he has picked until Hansen, a Norwegian merchant, shows up. Her chosen groom-to-be tries to kill the merchant, but Hansen is able to stop the wedding at the last moment.
