Clements is a test pilot who works for jet manufacturer Litel, and who pushes his luck too far by not following orders while testing a new plane. Litel has had enough of Clements' attitude and fires him. Clements retaliates by working for Litel's rival, Powers. After a crash, Clements is grounded, but he steals Litel's new test plane and successfully demonstrates it for the Army, putting him back in the good graces of his boss. Still, this one barely gets off the ground.
