Mason is a young farmer married to Coleridge. She is a nagging bitch who kills Mason's dog after an argument with her spouse. Upset, Mason kills her, buries her in the garden, and flees. Coleridge's brother becomes suspicious and contacts the police. Mason hooks up with writer Kellino and they fall in love. Then Mason realizes that she knows who he is and is using him as material for a novel. The police bear down and Mason is forced to flee again. From a high cliff overlooking the sea, Kellino watches helplessly as Mason wades into the water and drowns. Several novel twists in the tale of a fugitive on the run make this one fascinating.
