House of the Long Shadows Reviews

An amusing, old-fashioned haunted house film that is little more than an excuse to reunite the grand old stars of the low-budget gothic horror movies--Price, Lee, Cushing, and Carradine. The film centers on a bizarre family reunion at a decaying Welsh manor house. A young American writer (Arnaz, Jr.) is using the mansion as a quiet, atmospheric place to crank out a suspense novel. However, he is unable to write as the oddball Grisbane family arrives for their reunion. Just about every haunted house cliche in the book is used tongue in cheek. Seven Keys to Baldpate, the novel on which this film is based, was filmed five times between 1917 and 1947.
