A poorly executed comedy about a novelist, Terry-Thomas, who gets lost in the desert. His publisher, Hyde-White, has sold the author's past works on the merit of publicity stunts rather than fine writing. However, just before the release of his latest book, I Conquered the Desert, Terry-Thomas really gets lost in the arid wastelands of North Africa. He lives with a group of Bedouins and comes to adopt their ways, which makes for some barely amusing situations when he returns to England.
