A harsh look at the extent to which an unscrupulous student will go to impress his classmates. Ashley plays the rich kid dying to prove himself to the rest of the students at a small midwestern school. Using gangland-like ethics he creates his own little group of thugs to take control of the school. These boys demand protection payments from other students, force unwilling girls to become part of their racket, and drag their hot rods down the strip. Nugent refuses to put up with Ashley's shenanigans, creating the beginning of the end of the punk's brief reign. She and buddy Vinson team up to show just what a jerk Ashley is. The film features believable performances from young actors and an effective use of the rural setting in backwoods Missouri.
