Fighting Man of the Plains Reviews

Fair western with Scott as an outlaw who assumes the identity of the detective who captures him when the lawman is accidentally killed. Once free, he comes to the town of Lanyard, where Kelley is a rich rancher fencing off land for planting, and irking the railroad people as well as the cattlemen. Once he arrives, Scott is acknowledged to be the new marshal. In this unfamiliar capacity he soon excels and finds that he likes it better inside the law than outside. Jane Nigh is the brief romantic interest, and she and Scott are planning to make it legal when he's recognized as being a criminal and brought to the gibbet for a necktie party. Dale Robertson, as Jesse James, rides in to rescue Scott, and all is forgiven. Jory is particularly good as a gambler who makes Scott a pal and helps him when he can. Jory was born in Alaska in the early 1900s and was the boxing and wrestling champion in the U.S. Coast Guard before going on the stage in 1929 and then into movies in 1932 (PRIDE OF THE LEGION).
