End of the Road Reviews

Little seen adaptation of John Barth's eccentric novel stars Keach as a mental patient who, upon his release from an institution, becomes an English teacher at a small college in the East, where he makes friends with husband and wife Yulin and Tristan. He is treated by psychiatrist Jones, whose methods are, to say the least, unorthodox. He has an affair with Tristan which ends up with a graphically depicted, botched abortion and Tristan's death. An attempt at topical satire, the movie failed to attract audiences, probably because it's too bizarre to be effective. Originally rated X.
