Dulcimer Street Reviews

British drama focuses on a group of average souls living a life of desperate boredom. Out of this nondescript melange comes a youth, Attenborough, who wants some action and in pursuing it gets involved in a murder. Inexplicably, the film at this point veers off into a humorous account of a petition drive to save the young man's life, and the pent-up sympathy evoked by his plight scatters like seeds in the wind. Good glimpses of lower-class London help sustain interest, but touches meant to be laugh-getting spoil the show.
